The spice cubes, lemon cubes and ice cream all worked well. I felt the idea with me serving food is not new age, so I came up with another innovation. My idea is individualized peanut butter slices. Having peanut butter slices makes making a sandwiches a synch. It is a quick and easy way to put peanut butter on a sandwich.  Not only will you not get jelly in the peanut butter container, but it also forms the perfect portion of peanut butter needed on a sandwich.

So I was thinking about some more food ideas and came up with three more. The first is based on the deficiency of vitamin D that many people are suffering from. I decided to crush up the vitamin and put it in ice cream so that the taste of the vitamin will be negated by the ice cream.
My next idea is Spice cubes. These arte frozen cubes of spice that you can just toss in your food to either cook with or eat from. I am going to make both basil and dill.
My third idea is lemon cubes. I am going to put fresh squeezed lemons in the ice tray, add some water and freeze them. That way instead of asking for a lemon and having to squeeze it you can get a cube and put the cube either in your drink or what ever you happen to be cooking, such as fish

My next idea for food is a critique on how lazy our society is becoming. We have strayed away from the use of utencils and are beginning to use our hands more and more for "finger food". Insted of having finger food, I am going to have a meal where all the person would need to do is chew. The feeding will be done for them and the hint of lemon that is needed to go with the food will be squeezed into their mouth
I made two recipes to try and hide the taste of vegitables, and even though the actual vegitables were hidden, there was only one person who liked my carrot, corn and cream cheese recipe, and she was 1.5 years old. I decided that this was not the way to go when trying to hide the food so I ame up with another idea along the same premise. Instead of hiding vegitables in a food, I am going to crush up vitamins that are needed in daily functioning. That way a person can get the nutrition they need from a tasty snack.

new age food part 2

Now a days people are eating less and less healthy. They eat food on the go and do not get the proper nutrition that is needed.  I decided to make a popsicle that tastes good and has nutritional value. I blended vegetables and cream cheese. added some sugar and froze it all together. They are in the freezer now, and I am waiting to serve them for desert at thanksgiving. I will post on how they turned out. I cant wait!!

new age food

For my final project for Time Arts we have to come up with 5 different recipes of new aged food. New aged food is food that either critiques the way society eats now, or a recipe that puts a spin on how to eat food.
My first recipe is called edible lincoln logs. When I was a child I was always taught not to play with my food. Every kid loves doing it, so I thought of a way to make food where not only can you play with your food, but actually you are supposed to. I created a cylindrical mold which I pt melted chocolate in. Next I put it in the freezer and let it harden. Chocolate freezes fast, so only about 30 minutes later I take the chocolate out of the molds and have multiple cylindrical chocolate logs. These logs are flat on one side which makes them very easy for stacking and playing with. The logs must be kept in the freezer until served because if the aren't then they will melt fast and make a mess.

clue, laughter, and so much more!

I started this project by recording a game of clue between my friends and I. Then I marked how much laughter there was each minute, and proceeded to make a graph. After that, I recorded another friend laughing. I used clips of him laughing at different intensities to represent the amount of laughter there was during that minute during clue.
